Education & Career

Born into a family of musicians in Armenia, Miniona Demierre-Petrosyan began playing the piano with her father, and later attended the Tchaikovsky Music School in Yerevan.

Subsequently, she continued her studies at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory in the classes of Professor Sergey Sarajyan and Alexandre Gurgenov.
She then pursued her training in Switzerland, in Geneva and Lausanne.

In 2009, she obtained her Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy with distinction (“très bien”), and in 2011, her Master of Arts in Music Performance (Concert) in the class of Dominique Weber at the Geneva University of Music (Haute École de Musique de Genève).

In 2016, she obtained a CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies) in Instrumental Pedagogy at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (HES-SO) in Lausanne.
She has received valuable pedagogical advice from Madile Volken, Mayumi Kameda, André Locher, Xavier Demierre, and François Creux.

As a performer, she has had the privilege of perfecting her skills with Ivan Klansky, Julian Martin, Blanca Uribe, Marc Durand, Robert McDonald, Alfonso Montecino, Helen Russo, Jean-Claude Pennetier, and François-Joël Thiollier.

From a very young age, she has given recitals and concerts, and has participated on multiple occasions in festivals such as "Plaisir de Musique" (Annecy, France), the "Frédéric Chopin Festival" (Geneva, Switzerland), the "6th Piano Festival" (Geneva, Switzerland), the "Archipel Festival" (Geneva, Switzerland), and the "Gijon International Piano Festival" (Gijon, Spain).

She has performed as part of the "Amaras Young Performers Series" (Boston, USA), and has played in prestigious venues such as the Grand Hall of the Geneva Conservatory, Studio E. Ansermet, Salle F. Martin, Studio Gabriele de Agostini, the Lyceum Club, and others (Geneva, Switzerland).

Professional Experience

Throughout her musical career, she has had the opportunity to accompany numerous sopranos and singers on the piano. Piano accompaniment has become an essential part of her musical life and has grown into a true passion.
Passionate about education, she also teaches at several other music schools throughout Switzerland.
In 2016, she was unanimously appointed as a piano professor at the Conservatoire de la Riviera (Montreux, Switzerland), and in 2017 at the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique, Danse et Théâtre de Genève.
