Teaching

With 20 years of teaching experience, I share my knowledge and skills with my students, striving to pass on to them the passion and joy of discovering music.

Teaching is a genuine source of human enrichment - a continuous exchange when fueled by enthusiasm and a deep belief in what we do.

Holding a Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy from the Geneva University of Music and a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Instrumental Pedagogy from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (HES-SO) in Lausanne, she has been teaching piano for several years in various music schools alongside offering private lessons.

In 2016, she was unanimously appointed as a piano professor at the Conservatoire de la Riviera (Montreux, Switzerland) and, in 2017, at the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique, Danse et Théâtre de Genève.
During her CAS studies, she wrote a thesis entitled "The Joy of Teaching," in which she developed her own learning method for beginners.

Throughout her musical journey, she has channeled her experience into accompanying numerous opera singers and vocalists.

Piano accompaniment holds a central place in her life as a musician - one that has evolved into a true passion.

Research and Pedagogy

– Ava Hunziker
My years at the Conservatory with Miniona remain some of my fondest memories. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been her student, as she always encouraged me to push beyond my limits and explore my musical goals and aspirations with kindness and genuine support.

She also helped me refine my technique by quickly identifying the root cause of any difficulty. With clear explanations and carefully chosen exercises, as well as thoughtful adjustments to movement, touch, and posture, she consistently found effective ways to help me overcome technical challenges.
– Sook Ji Nehmert
After earning my Piano Certificate and taking a break from playing for several years, I resumed piano lessons with Miniona Demierre, following a program centered on the great classical piano repertoire, including works by Bach, Haydn, Chopin, and Brahms.

Through her encouragement, attentive guidance, and consistently thoughtful and insightful feedback, Miniona helped me regain the technical and musical level I had achieved before my break. I am deeply grateful for her support and dedication.
